This holiday season, we invite you to join us in a 25-day journey to Christmas using the Jesse Tree.
The Jesse Tree is an ancient tradition that dates back nearly 1,000 years to medieval times, where important biblical images and symbols would be painted into branches of a tree in order to tell the story of Jesus and his ancestors to people who could neither read nor write.
Today, the Jesse Tree has been re-imagined as an Advent Calendar, marking the days before Christmas with a devotional journey from the dawn of creation to the arrival of the Messiah in Bethlehem.
We invite you to join us on this journey through the Advent Jesse Tree.
Each day includes a short reading and a Bible passage related to the story. You may read them alone or as a family, after dinner or at bedtime! We’ve designed the studies to be simple and effective for all ages.
We have included three questions each day for you to use as conversation starters. These will help you dive more deeply into the topic apply it to your own journey. They work great around the dinner table or anytime the family is gathered together!
The box includes 25 custom-designed ornaments, an ornament for every day of the journey. Each day, place a new ornament on your own special Jesse Tree, or add the ornaments one-by-one to your family Christmas Tree.
Join Christ’s Table and Pastor Kevin for the “reConstruct” Bible Study.
In order to help you get the most out of each day’s study, our Lead Clergy at Christ’s Table, Dr. Kevin Young, offers a 20-minute live study session each morning. If you aren’t able to join live, they are immediately archived on YouTube and Facebook for you to watch at a later time.
Studies air Monday through Saturday at 8:30am ET
Sundays at 9:45 ET as part of the Sunday Morning Worship Gathering.

Sure, good things happen, sometimes beautiful things. But tragic things happen too. What does it mean? We find ourselves in the middle of a story that is sometimes wonderful, sometimes awful, usually a confusing mixture of both, and we haven’t a clue how to make sense of it all. No wonder we keep losing heart.
We need to know the rest of the story.
For when we were born, we were born into the midst of a great story begun before the dawn of time. A story of adventure, of risk and loss, heroism . . . and betrayal. A story where good is warring against evil, danger lurks around every corner, and glorious deeds wait to be done. Think of all those stories you’ve ever loved. There’s a reason they stirred your heart. They’ve been trying to tell you about the true Epic ever since you were young.
There is a larger story and you have a crucial role to play.
Join Christ’s Table and Pastor Kevin for a weekly discussion about Pete Enns’ book, “How the Bible Actually Works.” We spend 45 minutes discussing our likes, dislikes, and own perspectives on the material, all within an environment that is safe for both exploration and silence. Come, listen, and join in the discussion… if you like.
